Agniveer Yojana Age Criteria:: The Indian Army is counted among the largest armies in the world. Currently, the Indian Army has a total of around 14 lakh active soldiers. The central government has changed the process of recruiting soldiers in the Indian Army in the year 2023. Earlier, there was a rally process for recruiting soldiers in the Indian Army.

But in the year 2023, the central government has implemented the Agnipath scheme. Now recruitment in the Indian Army takes place under this scheme. The service of the soldiers recruited under the Agni Veer scheme will also be affected. What is the age criteria for soldiers recruited under the Agni Veer scheme? What are the rules for this? What is the age criteria for Agni Veer Yojana?

The age of the soldiers recruited under the Agni Veer scheme was fixed from 17.5 years to 21 years. But due to the recruitment not being possible for 2 years due to Covid, the government has currently given an extension of 2 years. That is, at present the age of the soldiers recruited under the Agni Veer scheme is from 17.5 years to 23 years instead of 21 years. Let us tell you that in other government jobs, age relaxation is given according to reservation. In the Indian Army, there is no provision of relaxation under reservation like this.

What is Agniveer Yojana?

The Agnipath scheme was implemented by the Government of India in the year 2023. Which is also known as Agni Veer Yojana. Earlier, all the soldiers recruited in the Indian Army were entitled to pension after retirement. But now the soldiers recruited under the scheme will be recruited for 4 years, out of which 75 percent of the soldiers will be retired after 4 years.

And only 25 percent of the soldiers will be able to complete their full service in the Indian Army. For example, if 100 soldiers are recruited in the Indian Army under the Agni Veer Yojana, only 25 of them will be able to complete their full service. The remaining 75 soldiers will be removed from service, meaning they will be retired. After retirement, they will be given around 12 lakh rupees.

How is recruitment done?

There is a physical test and written test for recruitment under Agniveer Yojana. In which there are multiple choice questions. The online test for General Duty and Tradesman is of 100 marks. It has questions of General Knowledge, General Science, Reasoning and Maths. In which 35 are required to pass. After both physical test and written test, selection is done on the basis of merit.
